More information
Turn-by-turn directions
From Hotel Winterer you follow Hochwurzenstraße road (the toboggan run) to the 1st hairpin. Here you turn-off right and follow the 4-seasons trail. You walk for quite a bit until you reach another hairpin (with turn-off to Neudeggalm). You make a left here and follow the signs towards Hüttecksattel and Hochwurzen. Via several hairpins you ascend to the mountain saddle of Hüttecksattel and from there you reach the Hochwurzen toboggan run in a couple of minutes. You follow the toboggan run uphill for about 400 meters (one hairpin) and reach Hochwurzenalm chalet. Another 200 m uphill you reach the summit of Hochwurzen and Hochwurzenhütte Inn.

Mountaineering is therefore primarily a matter of personal responsibility – even more so in winter. Tourist associations and avalanche warning services assume no liability whatsoever based on the information provided.

Author’s recommendation
- With the Schladming-Dachstein Winter Walking Ticket you can use several cable-cars and chair-lifts to get to the trail heads of some of the most beautiful winter hikes.http://www.planai.at/en/winter/winter-hiking
- If you like, rent a toboggan at one of the rental shops and walk up with it. You then can enjoy the 7 km long ride back down.
-
Perfect walk for those who want to meet friends who ski at a mountain chalet or restaurant.
