The Dachsteinlauf is the cross-country skiing highlight in Ramsau am Dachstein and will bring cross-country skiing enthusiasts from Austria and beyond to the Schladming-Dachstein region from January 15 to 17, 2027. Set against the impressive backdrop of the Dachstein massif, you can look forward to a weekend that combines athletic challenges, nature experiences, and a sense of community.

Whether you’re an ambitious cross-country skier, a recreational athlete, or a beginner —the Dachsteinlauf is all about cross-country skiing for everyone and offers the right challenge for every skill level. The event is complemented by a varied supporting program that makes the Dachsteinlauf a special experience for participants and visitors alike.

The Dachsteinlauf is a cross-country skiing event in Ramsau am Dachstein and is one of the sporting highlights of the Nordic winter season in the Schladming-Dachstein region. The event combines the spirit of mass-participation cross-country skiing with a varied programme for all ability levels – from the 40-km main race, through the 10-km race and the team competition, to the children’s race and the Dachstein culinary run.

Beginners are in good hands with the 10-km run or the fun run. Those looking for a sporting challenge can tackle the 40-km route. For children, the Kids Race offers the ideal introduction to cross-country skiing.

The Dachstein Run offers a choice of a 40-km route, a 10-km route, a 10-km team run, the Kids’ Race and the 5-km Dachstein Culinary Run. This means that both beginners and experienced cross-country runners can find the right event for them.

Most of the programme events take place in and around the Ramsau am Dachstein World Championships Cross-Country Skiing Stadium. Individual events, such as the mountain hut evening, are held at selected venues in Ramsau.

Yes. Spectators are very welcome and can watch the competitions and enjoy the varied programme of events.

The Dachstein Run will generally go ahead even in winter weather conditions. Should any changes to the programme be necessary, these will be announced in good time on the website and via the official channels.
